Native Voices Children's Story Hour
Celebrate Native American Heritage Month with a welcoming children’s story hour featuring books written by Native authors read by Navajo/Diné people. This story hour will be open to all families and designed for children ages 3 to 12. Through engaging read-alouds, children will explore stories that highlight Native cultures, traditions, values, and contemporary voices. The goal is to encourage cultural understanding and a love of reading through books by Native authors.
Little Cat is one of the founders of Asdzáá Yoólta (Navajo for Women Reading), an Indigenous-authored book club based in Las Vegas. They are passionate about bringing Indigenous stories, literature and voices into spaces where children and families can discover, enjoy, and connect with books.
This event is free and open to the public; a library card is not required to attend. Seating is limited and available on a first come, first serve basis. For more information, please call the West Las Vegas Library Youth Services Department at 702.507.3983.
